Hi, I'm Lisa Knudson, LCSW
And I provide Psychotherapy for Adults and Teens (16 and Up) In Person in Asheville, NC and Online in Texas and North Carolina
I help Adults and Teens who are feeling anxious about the challenges of day to day life. Through empathetic listening, I provide a space where you can be yourself without judgement.
Together, we’ll explore how to get to a place where your ups and downs in life feel more manageable instead of overwhelming. We will work to find a way for you to live life more free, open, and accepting of yourself.
If You Feel Confused or Scared, I Hear You, And You Are Not Alone
I will work with you to untangle the areas that have caused you stress or have paralyzed you. I will help you to observe and understand how your behaviors served you throughout the years and focus on where you would like to make changes. You will come to terms with your past and gain awareness of your patterns. I will help you appreciate the uniqueness within you and guide and support you on your journey.
Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed right now with all that’s going on. You may be feeling:
● Haunted by the Past and Feeling Shame for Mistakes Made
● Sad and Lonely After A Relationship Ended
● Anxious About a Life Transition
● Overwhelmed By Expectations To Be Someone You’re Not
If this is affecting your ability to live your life, then it may be time to see a Psychotherapist.
It’s Possible To Start Feeling More Connected to Your Life Purpose
As your therapist, I will be there for you through this challenging time. As early as I could remember, I had a nagging feeling that I didn’t belong in this world due to my sensitivity. I was overly cautious and somewhat suspicious of others and their intentions. I felt lonely and isolated because I didn’t trust that people would accept me for who I was. I felt confused as to how to deal with these emotions on my own. I saw a therapist in my early 20’s who helped me begin to see my value and understand my strengths. She showed me how I survived the pain of my childhood; the losses, the disappointments. My therapist became my anchor and engaged me in a way that nobody ever could. She saw all the parts of me; the lost child, the insecure teen, the wallflower and the survivor. As we worked together to unravel my life story, I gradually developed more confidence in myself and liked who I had become. My relationship with my therapist helped me to understand at a deeper level my sense of self and my purpose in life. That is what I want others to feel and why I became a therapist.
